Intelligence Officer! Stupidity Officer Is More Like It -- Pentagon Wants To Open A Stupidity Division, They Know Who They Can Get To Lead It

Mah-mah-mah-myyy Sirota found a beaut:
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are [a] few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
- President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 11/8/54
Given that President Bush, a Texas oil millionaire, is trying to abolish social security as we know it, starve unemployment programs, weaken labor laws, and gut rural/farm programs, I predict that Pat Robertson and Zell Miller will publicly denounce Ike as a gay-kissing Hollywood welfare queen.

(Yes, I freely just copied and pasted this one. No credit to me; all credit to David Sirota -- I just wanted more people to see it, is all.)

Comments:
That was then.

Unfortunately, this is now.

The average Prime Time media junkie has no idea what his information fix is cut with.

All bad things are the fault of those who fault Dear Leader.

Eisenhower would be appalled, but Nixon would be envious.

but... but... that was before 9/11. Everything changed after 9/11.

What's up with the vitriolic attack on GWB? First "he's" an idiot. Then, "he" squanders the budget surplus. After that "he" was in bed with the Saudis and "he" knew about the 9/11 attacks before they happened.

First of all, he's not an idiot. Not an A student, but not an idiot; flying a fighter jet does take some mental aptitude, especially from the era that he flew them. Secondly, let's face it, the economy was tanking when the hero of the left wing was going out of office. Tanking economy= less revenue. As for the Saudi connection to Bush and his prior knowledge of 9/11, that unadulterated baloney; there's not a single shred of evidence to back up those claims.

No, he's not trying to abolish Social Security, that's a flat out lie. He's tinkering with the 3rd rail, because he's the only one with the guts to try to head off an impending disaster. Where's the proof on starving unemployment programs and the weakening of labor laws? I haven't personally had the experience of having my 7 and 10 year old daughters go off to school followed by 8 hours weaving rugs in a shack. Again, where's the proof? Lastly, under Bush farm and rural spending programs are currently at all time highs! Modest cuts in those programs would have a negligible impact in rural America. Heck, rural America survived Carter's idiotic "Russian grain embargo" after another villain of the left (Earl Butz) had successfully crafted an export policy that brought record prices for commodities to rural America. Oh how quickly people forget that under Carter America saw a decline of the price of some grains fall by over 50%! Cutting farm/rural development spending won't kill rural America.

Have a great day.
