"Dad, I Want To Be A Physicist." "What Do They Grow, Son?" "... They Don't Grow Anything." "Then What Good Are They?"

A lot of you already know about the anti-science movement, in particular how it's pitted teachers in Pennsylvania against the superstitious parents of their students. But there's a quote in this particular story I find both delightful and terrifying.
... [P]astor and parent Ray Mummert, 54, explained their point.

[...]

"We've been attacked by the intelligent, educated segment of the culture," he said, adding that the school board's declaration is just a first step.

Dude's admitting he's part of the unintelligent, uneducated segment of the culture. And, being unintelligent and uneducated, he apparently doesn't realize he's doing so. Or else he's revelling in it.

That's what we're up against, gang. The proudly stupid.

Comments:
The Proudly Stupid definitely sums up this crowd.

This quote needs to be spread far and wide. "Creationist admits to being uneducated, unintelligent."

How terrible -- to be attacked by the intellient, educated segment of the culture. How awful that the educated and intelligent people might want to have some impact when it comes to education, huh?

These people are batshit crazy.

I don't know anything and I'm proud that I make sure I don't get exposed to any intelligence:)
Yup, there are people who actually fight learning anything new!

Hmmm.. I thought I commented on this a couple days ago. I guess not. Stupidity is on the rise. There are a lot of people who revel in their ignorance.

I'd say intelligent design was an oxymoron if I knew what it meant..

My Mom's family was from PA, most superstitious bunch you'd never want to meet. I still toss salt over my left shoulder when it's spilled to this day . . .
