IF MY DEMOCRATIC COLLEAGUES EXERCISE SELF-RESTRAINT AND DON'T FILIBUSTER JUDICIAL NOMINEES, SENATE TRADITIONS WILL BE RESTORED. IT WILL THEN BE UNNECESSARY TO CHANGE SENATE PROCEDURES.In other words: "Remember when the Democrats had control of Congress and the White House, and we blocked Clinton's judicial nominations, sometimes for years? Well, that was good for us. That was us using the rules. Now that we're in charge, though, either you let through whoever Dubya nominates (because we have enough votes to win if it gets to the Senate floor), or else we'll change the rules so that you can't block anybody, and bring your own KY while you're at it, mm-kay?"
